Shoeboxes seemed so fucking easy in my first bulk grow that I hate to make things more difficult for a slight margin in yield, BUT space here is a concern. IE it would be way easier to do like 4-5, maybe 6, monotubs vs 36 shoeboxes. I suppose, yeah I was attracted to the ease of the boxes: just flip the lid.

BTW six 1/2 pints of spawn = 3 pints of spawn so for a 1:2 you'd want 3 pints spawn to 6 quarts bulk substrate (but that's all depending on size of tub/tray and how deep you want your substrate to be too).
