Driving into work this morning I got a flashing D drive on the instrument cluster, stopped and checked the owners manual and it says it could indicate a possible transmission problem. I checked the fluid and it looked okay and didn't smell burnt.

If you DIY personally I would just replace both since it takes longer to get the front end jacked up compared to the time it takes to replace the switches. The switch is located at top of the transmission below the air cleaner housing. Remove the air cleaner housing and duct, then check for any broken wiring at the harness to the pressure switch.

This was the case when my 06 V6 At starting doing the blinky blinky in (D)drive and it turned out being the 3rd or 4th gear pressure switch. This was *after* the transmission prematurely broke at ~90k and was replaced with a "new" one. Turns out the installer used the old pressure switches to save money on a "new" transmission.

So I went ahead and parked the car and the "D" was still flashing. I turned the car off and on again, and the "D" wasn't blinking anymore. All appeared normal on the dash. Turns out all you have to do is locate the DTC connector by your right knee under bottom of dash, it points downward.
