I took 25mg for years, then lowered to 12.5 instead and stayed on that. My sleep was also affected by it. I thought metoprolol made my life much worse after initial tapering, but my life turned upside down after I stopped and higlighted many of the issues that the medication was masking -- at least I believe so.

I'm at the end if my first day and am having constant lightheadedness, but can feel the side effect tapering down. No change in BP, heart rate lower.I am taking 100 mg twice a day and have no problems with it at all. I have been doing this for over a year. I am also taking 12.5 mg metoprolol twice a day which regulates my heart rate. If I have a very fast heart rate, I take a 12.5 tab of the metoprolol and within a few minutes my heart rate drops back to normal.
