There's no mass accounts of overheating penastars in the JK. I think people are trying to find a issue where it does not exist. If it was a aluminum block and iron heads I could see a issue. Since they're the same material they should in theory expand all at the same rates ect. They replaced the unit, but the Jeep still is running hot (230+ on moderate hill climbs). Remember, it never used to do this. The mechanic said it might be the thermostat. I had them replace the thermostat. No difference. Blend door actuator for sure for the no-heat-in-the-cabin deal, but the engine overheating seems far out for that. maybe a clogged heater core (might impede flow) Im dealing with no heat in cabin right now, except on the highest setting. Mine was starting to leak, and liquid was living in the valley of the engine. This is how I found out mine was leaking:

The fan control/relay was shot and the electric fan was not cutting on. I checked the fan by running a + and - from the battery. Fan worked. Just had the heater core, radiator, oil cooler (all heat exchangers) replaced in my 13 JKUR (17k miles). Big job, took a week. Would have run roughly $3k if it for warrantee. On hot days (temps in 90's plus), my Jeep would overheat while driving regardless of speed. Higher speeds didn't help cool it off. In older vehicles that had questionable cooling fans, you could just drive 50-60 and the airflow through radiator was enough to keep your engine happy. Not so in the JK. I have spent a small fortune trying to find the issue. I’ve had it tested by 2 different mechanic shops for the head gasket issue and both said it’s fine. I’ve changed everything. It will drive for a week or so just fine then I’ll notice a day it will be running hot.
