I had a relative who's a mechanic take the door apart from the inside to see if he could diagnose the problem. He found nothing wrong or obviously broken ...Turns out, there were bite marks on the leading edge of the door weather stripping, with some very thin wire exposed in a couple spots. Did a part lookup and found that 72812-THR-A01 is the Door Sensor Assembly, and seems to be, well, important enough to stop the door from working.
