The Lectron has been around a long time but until recently the owner was into drag racing and so the carb performed very well in that venue. The carbs have been used by a few very high level off road guys in events such as the ISDE as far back as 20 years ago. They are $300 and available and very easy to tune and don't need fiddling.check for any binding or sharp angles in the cable. make sure that with out the cable the carb will close freely and easily. running should make zero difference. The WR starts one push of the button no matter what temp, elevation, or if it’s been dropped, whereas I had a lot of carb trouble with my old DRZ in the 3 years I’ve owned it. Loved everything else about the bike though. So that brings me to Lectron with how they automatically adjust for all that with their metering rods.

What they do have is a "powerjet" that is ment for the 4 stroke. But no choke. Just remember if you have a low end bog, it is lean and need to richen the needle a half turn. I'm at about 1100ft in Oklahoma. First things first stop speculating and pull your plug out and look at it. Grab a fresh plug and go run that. Compare. Make jetting (Metering Rod) adjustment based on that.
