Wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't working as intended. To this day, I have not seen a single proof that thrall-zombies decay at all. It was mentioned in one line on the feature page of 3.0 but it is not explained and not stated in any patchnotes I am aware of. My current home base is in the jungle where I'm surrounded by reapers and spiders, so lots of poison damage especially from the reapers. I thought zombies would be a good counter but for whatever reason they suffer poison (and bleed) damage just as if they were still alive. Oddly enough though, the tamed komodo I have doesn't get the poison debuff.
