Eventually I'll have 3 good sized clan parties and together with my party can field an army in the 350-400 range along with 2-3 cities that are full of elite defenders. All this takes TIME which is why by the time I get to this stage, while I am a VERY powerful independent entity within the world, it's taken so long that I start getting bored.

If you're with the same kingdom long enough you could see the king die. typically they will elect you as the new king and it's pretty fun to run a kingdom.

Theres a few bugs with the create a kingdom quest. Theres a mod to bypass this. No mercenaries cant own fiefs. To leave a kingdom as a vassal and keep your fief press k top right is leave kingdom.
