About a year ago, I bought a Lenovo g575 laptop. It was a Labor Day sale and was very good value. Never had a problem until my T570, where the internal battery started bubbling causing the case to come apart. I removed it and just use the back battery now. Was considering the Legion 7i, mainly because I want a reliable laptop. Unfortunately for Lenovo, and fortunately for me, I saw these hinge/lid problems before I purchased.

UPDATE: Lenono fixed my laptop. Not sure if they replaced the hinge, or gave me an entire new chassis and just swapped the HD. It says they replaced the hinge, LCD bevel and the back cover, but even the keyboard is missing the stickers that were on it, so I think it was entirely replaced, which makes more sense and was probably than just replacing the hinge. To address the first issue first make sure you have all critical updates from Lenovo installed. Sometimes Vantage may skip something. And run a battery calibration cycle with Vantage. Second one is hardware related. Looks like a loose hinge. I'd reach out to Lenovo if your laptop is under warranty. Yeah I don't see how someone could defend the hinge issue on the 7. The design was simply bad to begin with, as was the fix/ 'solution' the 2021 models still doesn't seem the sturdiest either. Seeing so many people have hinge problems is pushing me towards an asus.

I'm looking at buying a Ideapad Flex 5 16" laptop (2022 model). A lot of reviews I've found about the Ideapad Flex 2-in-1 laptops from 2020-2021 mention that the screen hinges fail within a few months to 1 year, often resulting in the screen cracking.
