Only way I can think of to fix this issue would be to redownload the game as this should install the latest version of the game. I know the post is old but as some people seem to still have the problem I hope this helps. I'd like to back up LuxerWap's claims and say that YES, COD servers are still very much alive and kicking! I just checked now and there are currently over 5,000 players online on Black Ops alone!
