Spam Sticky 2/3 ammo to stun the monster, and Exhaust to tire it. Unload Cluster when it's stunned/tired. Use Sleep to capitalize on Wyvern ammo. I think that would be the way to go. I messed around with Jho's gun a few days ago, and found that's what worked best when it came to maximizing damage output for that gun.

I just beat vakyhana, and I'm looking for a good heavy bowgun build before I start doing some Guiding lands stuff. I'm currently running Fatal Assault 3. The royal hbg piercing water did as much damage per tick (26) as a couple ticks of pierce 3 did (11-13 each) with no skill investment in either on basarios which makes me think that going for pierce up may be more worth it depending on the hitzones of the target. Crouching fire is pretty good with it. I've been enjoying running Pierce HBG for almost anything since TU3 came out, Crouching Shot is a very fun playstyle and this weapon melts everything. Depending on how much you tolerate recoil, there's always Recoil Down, too. Until Sunbreak comes along Shield just isn't fun to play in Base Rise.

Because you're not building up KO while the monster is already recovering from a KO and especially slicing to the face will do more damage than stickies. Since you already have full WeX, you probably want Crit Boost. Focus 3 will only save you 15% of your charge time, I think like 30 seconds on the Wyverheart recharge. Focus 1 will give you 5% (more like 10 seconds). Crit boost and critical eye, on the other hand, will give pretty consistent increases to your DPS.
