M4 vs 1301.

Beretta 1301 hands down. I spent years on the quest for the best duty shotgun back when I worked for a shotgun only department. Since I couldn’t have a patrol rifle, I wanted the best shotgun available. I had a Benelli M2. It was temperamental with light loads. But the biggest problem was slug shooting.The M4 is better in nearly every metric. The only downside being the lesser capacity due to import restrictions and the extra pound of weight. It cycles smoother, shoots softer, and has a superior operating system. The blink system in the beretta is awesome, but not as refined as the argo.The Benelli M4 is a great shotgun but it’s heavier than the 1301. Then depending on the set up you’re going to spend additional money to tweak it to fit your needs. I’m not sure you can go wrong with either gun through. They are both top choices. M4 is generally a much more affordable option compared to S30V, and it is often the preferred choice for budget-minded knife owners. M4 is composed of 1.2% Carbon, 0.3% Silicon, 4.5% Molybdenum, and 0.2% Vanadium, and it has an HRC rating of 64-66. The 1301 is a much more modern design (especially the Mod 2) and in some aspects beats the M4 in terms of quality of life features and ergonomics (larger bolt release, larger magazine from the factory, better trigger, lighter, faster cycling from a more refined gas system, etc.) that do give it a legitimate leg up over the M4. 4.

Softest shooting 12 gauge made. Yep, it's on my want list. Well, I've not shot the 1301, but the versa max shoots like a kitten. It's got an awesome gas system and some weight behind it. V3 is essentially the same gas system in a lighter gun. I had a V3 cut down to 18.5" and that thing is friggin quick.I'm still in the search for a semi-auto defensive shotgun. Ha! The LE tactical version of the 1301 popped up on my LGS's website this morning. They had one each of the pistol grip and standard stocks. I hadn't seen that version pistol grip before and would have liked to handle it, but I didn't want to take a chance on snooze and lose, so I just bought the standard stock online and will go pick it up later today.
