The LS ending for KoTOR 1 is the right one mainly because in 2 they say Revan killed malak and went off somewhere. If you think about it, if KoTOR did end like the DS endings, then 2 could never happen. There would be NO way that Revan would fall from power in five years with no one to challenge him.It's not. But some small pieces of it have been made canon by canon material. The details of the story are still not canon, but clearly the Old Republic was an era that existed and there was a Sith named Revan roaming around.
