May 9, 2021 · When I saw the initial pics, I noticed the condenser & coil config were identical to mine in a 1986 318 w/B43G. The later pics confirmed yours as a 1983 318 B43G machine. So, I have a 1986 B43G configured the same (with the newer replacement coil and external condenser). I have a 318 John Deere that has no spark while cranking. It will spark once when you initially crank it, and once when you stop cranking. Any info will be appreciated. In 30 years things can get changed, so it could be the right wire. If it has power with the key on, and no power when the key is off, it's probably the right one. Looked it over a bit more.
