Also, zombies do seem to like hitting windows so if you don't have a wall around your base, and you haven't cleared the area around it, prepare to replace them. Not sure about the noise effect though.

Ok. So here goes. Tap the E button to open and close windows. Holding E will climb through windows and up sheet ropes. To open and close curtains you will have to right click on the window in question and select the close curtain option. It can be a bit tricky at times, but you should be able to get the one you want.
