Im lookin to get a new shotgun and was hoping for some info. Main choices are the Beretta A400 Xtreme or either the Benelli SBE2 or the M2. Anyone got any info, likes, dislikes, anything at all really about these. Good choices bad choices? Another option to look at would be the Franchi Affinity 3.5. They point and feel like a quality Italian shotgun. The fundamental difference between Benelli M4 and Beretta 1301 is "short stroke vs long stroke" piston systems. After the shotgun is fired, the gas piston strikes the bolt carrier group back to start the cycling process. Benelli M4 uses a simpler short stroke design. There are fewer parts in the bolt carrier group.

The Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I 20-gauge shotgun is not a competition skeet gun. It was built for hunting. It is light and lively, easy carrying, a joy to shoot, and has especially good looks. One is for the clay fields (Beretta) and the other is for the hunting fields (Benelli).
