To delete the smog you need to remove the pump itself and all related hoses and pipes. You'll have to plug the hole in the exhaust and the holes in the rear of each cylinder head. Then plug the top vacuum ports on both the tab and tad solenoids. I left them in place and connected and I have no CEL.
